CarShare was a project I worked on for SYDE 542 – Interface Design

Problem: Sharing a car between more than one person can cause conflict when it comes to splitting costs. It also makes it very difficult to accurately track gas mileage and maintenance costs of the car. This project is an in-progress project to develop an iPhone application interface to solve these issues.

Solution: Users will use the iPhone app to track gas purchases, maintenance costs, and driver usage of the car, and that information will aid them in being able to track costs and mileage. Two mains areas are focussed on:

  • Tracking: overview of gas purchases, maintenance costs, and driver switches, provides ability to view details, add another entry, or sort entries
  • Reporting: ability to view reports on specific user gas mileage, overall gas mileage, timelines, and cost balance

Methods: There was a focus on using course concepts related to mass data display and navigation.
